The Crucible

The scenic design for The Crucible is set in the middle of the forest. This is to give the idea of timelessness intended to make the audience focus beyond the subject of alleged witchcraft and on broader-theme of the hysterical rush to judgment. Using projections, we convince the audience that Abigail's supernatural experiences are real to help the audience better understand how she is able to convince groups of people of her sightings even if they saw nothing. All to make the audience question if we are all really so different from our ancestors.
